#3 - Why Did I Chose Rad-Tech?
Spotted: A student standing at the crossroads of her future, torn between expectations and ambition. Daddy dearest wanted engineering, but let’s be honest—that was never the dream. Medicine? Yes. People? Not so much. Enter Radiologic Technology, the perfect mix of science, machines, and just the right amount of human interaction. From X-rays to MRIs, this world of high-tech diagnosis is where she belongs. The goal? Becoming a top-tier RRT and making waves in the medical field. The journey won’t be easy, but since when has that ever stopped her? Stay tuned, darlings.

Choosing a college program felt overwhelming at first, with so many options available, I struggled to find the right fit. One thing I was sure about, though, was that I didn’t want to study engineering—which it was my father’s dream for me to pursue engineering, I knew deep down that it wasn’t for me.
I’ve always been drawn to courses related to medicine. The idea of working in healthcare, helping people, and being part of a team that saves lives inspired me. However, I knew I didn’t want to be a nurse—I don’t really like interacting with people that much. Radiologic Technology felt like the perfect choice—it allows me to be in the medical field that is also related to technology—which is still evolving through time.
The field itself excites me. The thought of using advanced imaging techniques to detect illnesses and assist in diagnosis makes me feel like I’m doing something important. The thought of operating a machine like X-rays fascinates me and it makes me fell in love with the program I chose.
Beyond my curiosity, I also have a strong personal goal: to become a successful registered radiologic technologist. I dream of the day I can proudly wear my uniform, work in a hospital, and make a real difference in people’s lives. That vision keeps me motivated and make me strive to survive each day.
Lastly, I love learning new things, and RadTech is a field that constantly evolves. There will always be new techniques, new equipment, and new challenges, which excites me even more, plus, it offers many career opportunities both locally and abroad.
Looking back, I know I made the right choice. The road ahead? Far from easy. But let’s be real—when has anything worth having ever come without a little struggle? Buckle up, because this is just the beginning.
You know you love me.
XoXo,
Radtech Girl
